Silmo and the IOA Summit are joining forces in Singapore

After a five-year hiatus, the International Opticians’ Association (IOA) can finally welcome members and supporters to its biennial summit in Singapore from 11-16 April, coinciding with the inaugural Silmo Singapore optical fair from 12-14 April.

Hosted at the Suntec City Exhibition and Convention Centre, the summit is themed ‘Sustainable and quality vision worldwide’, with organisers promising a week of education and informative debate about the world of optics. The IOA Summit is an incredible opportunity for members to meet likeminded professionals, attend the flagship Silmo Singapore trade show and be at the forefront of innovation and current trends, said Fiona Anderson, IOA president. “I am delighted we have been able to organise this long-awaited event and look forward to seeing you in Singapore!”

Former Association of Dispensing Opticians of New Zealand president Donald Crichton, who will take over the IOA presidency at the 2023 summit, said he hopes to see some familiar faces from New Zealand in attendance. “The IOA Summit at Silmo Singapore will be a great event as it will attract attendees from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, with great speakers for the educational portion and opportunities to mingle with international peers.”
