Zeiss is offering free slit lamp breath shields and a new support website to aid its customers and eye health practitioners worldwide in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The website offers information on how to correctly disinfect Zeiss devices, provides virtual education programmes and includes a link to the Zeiss Academy website which hosts a selection of training materials and e-learning modules relating to Zeiss devices.
“The aim is to provide important information at a time when face-to-face communication is more difficult and restricting the usual flow of news, updates and education material,” said Zeiss’ medical technology marketing manager Matthew Wensor.
Zeiss is also offering a slit lamp breath shield programme to support eyecare professionals around the globe. “The programme allows users to register for up to two slit lamp breath shields that fit a variety of makes and models of slit lamps. This service is free and offered purely to support eyecare professionals during this difficult time,” Wensor said.
In addition to this global initiative, Zeiss has donated breath shields to all current users of their slit lamps in New Zealand and Australia, including laser slit lamps. Each breath shield comes with simple installation instructions, available on the Zeiss Support Now website, along with an explanatory video: www.zeiss.com/meditec/int/med-support-now.html
