Johnson & Johnson Vision is celebrating 20 years with the Tecnis platform, marking the milestone with the new ‘See More’ campaign and a donation supporting eye health in the Himalayas.

Twenty years ago, a team of researchers and innovators created Tecnis, setting in motion two decades of breakthroughs, including the world’s first aspherical lens and extended depth of focus lens, said Melanie Reiter, associate marketing director at Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision. “We believe the quality of the lens is only as good as the platform it is built on; that’s why Tecnis is both our legacy and our future.”

The ‘See More’ campaign features patients’ and doctors’ stories to raise awareness of the possibilities of cataract surgery and show how the Tecnis portfolio unlocks greater potential for patients, said Reiter. Additionally, the company is donating $20,000 to the Cure Blindness Himalayan Cataract Project to help eradicate preventable blindness and spread cataract awareness.

Johnson & Johnson Vision said it will continue to roll out new Tecnis intraocular lenses (IOLs) in Australia and New Zealand including Tecnis Eyhance Toric IOL with the Tecnis Simplicity Delivery System, which according to J&J Vision is the only fully preloaded IOL delivery system that allows patients to choose from two hydration methods.
