MSO has launched a new site, NZ Magnifiers, featuring the full range of Eschenbach magnifiers and Daylight magnifying lamps, which it said provides a more efficient and thus speedier delivery system for single orders.
The site was created to facilitate an easier, faster and more flexible service, said MSO managing director Gethin Sladen. Optometrists will be given their own login to help their patients choose exactly what they need when they need it, he said. “For us, it’s important that Kiwis get the best quality products, so we were keen on facilitating access to the whole available range and streamlining the ordering process. An optometrist in Tauranga, for instance, can now order a product for their customer and it’s immediately processed and shipped.”

Eschenbach has trialled similar systems in Australia to help optometrists find what they need, said Leanne Sheil, Eschenbach Optik’s agent in Australia. “The response here exceeded our expectations… (and), given the trade’s positive reception, we are very happy to see Gethin jump at the same opportunity for New Zealand.”
The new magnifiers site also features a direct offering, Easy Vision, catering to people who require magnification to pursue precision work and hobbies, Sladen said. “Many of our magnifying lamps offer professionals who specialise in precision work much better comfort and accuracy. Just think of nail technicians and beauticians who have resorted to buying much lower quality and often more expensive products than ours because they simply don’t know our offering. Same for the leisure sector – we have birdwatchers who tried Eschenbach binoculars and became evangelists of the brand as the quality of the product is far superior to what they could find online before.”
Offering optometrists easier ways to work is important to MSO, said Sladen. Giving optometrists easy access to the full Eschenbach range will help improve their service for customers, while expanding this reach outside the optical market will grow the Eschenbach brand in New Zealand, which in turn will help optometrists who wish to offer these products, he said.
