Swiss company Vivior has launched Visual Monitor, a new wearable device that objectively measures patients’ behavioural data prior to cataract surgery to improve visual outcomes.

The monitor gathers data about a patient’s lifestyle activities, uploads this onto a high-security Swiss data cloud for processing and delivers a graph showing visual distance distribution. The objective is to improve ophthalmologists’ ability to provide personalised solutions for their patients, said Vivior. “Imagine having everything you need to select the most appropriate lens design for your patient, all based on objective data.”
