Mido 2020 postponed

Mido organisers have decided to postpone the 2020 fair due to the coronavirus (CoVID-19) outbreak.

“We took this decision out of respect for the current alarming situation and for our exhibitors and visitors,” said Mido’s president Giovanni Vitaloni. “As this health crisis is developing in Italy, we could not but choose to postpone Mido’s 2020 edition.”

Italy has been hit by the largest outbreak of coronavirus outside of Asia, with over 150 confirmed cases and three deaths prompting strict bans from entering and leaving certain areas of the country. Police are patrolling 11 towns, issuing fines to anyone found breaking the restrictions.

New Mido 2020 dates are yet to be announced. Organisers said the event is now likely to be held between late May and mid-June.
