Dutch start-up Hable has released a braille keyboard, Hable One, that fits in the palm of your hand.

“Our vision is to make smartphones completely accessible for people who are blind,” said Hable co-founder Ayushman Talwar. “Every person that is blind should have the ability to grasp the same benefits of the smartphone as anyone else. This can only be achieved if they have the same opportunities as anyone else.”

The wireless device works with VoiceOver and TalkBack on smartphones and tablets and can be used for typing more accurately and navigating the phone with simple movements and shortcuts.

Hable recently teamed up with the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) in the UK. RNIB senior retail products manager Jennie Mather said, "We’re very excited to be working with Hable One as we believe it’s a game changer. This really demonstrates how technology can play a vital role in increasing independence for blind and partially sighted people."
