J&J CLs recalled for fear of scratching

UK wearers of Johnson & Johnson 1-day Acuvue Moist for Astigmatism contact lenses are being urged to check their lenses before wearing them as there are faulty batches in circulation that could scratch their eyes, explained a notice from The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA)

The affected lots, voluntarily recalled by J&J, may have particles on the contact lens or in the contact lens blister solution. If the particles are not noticed before insertion into the eye, this could cause eye redness or discomfort or corneal abrasion. There have been no reports of serious adverse events to date.
